About

Hi! I’m Kirsten Kessler a Naturopathic Doctor and Certified Nutrition Specialist with a passion for exploring the root cause of symptoms. Through an in-depth intake and functional diagnostic testing I work to piece together the puzzle of your wellness.

My areas of expertise include addressing hormone imbalances, optimizing digestion, and nurturing mental health, especially, but not exclusively, during perimenopause and menopause.

I employ a holistic approach, tailoring personalized nutrition plans, herbal remedies, vitamins, and homeopathy to meet the specific needs of each individual I work with.

Rejecting one-size-fits-all health solutions, I’d love to be your trusted guide to a holistic and individualized path to well-being.

 FAQs

  • This is a no-pressure call where we will chat about your current health concerns or goals, what interests you about a naturopathic approach and what our time working together would look like.

  • Your Intake includes not only your current symptoms and health concerns, but also your previous health history. We will discuss your current health concerns, previous diagnosis, medications, supplements, nutrition, sleep, exercise, stress and any other lifestyle factors that may be relevant. A Naturopathic approach involves a deep dive into all aspects of the individual and requires more time than most patients are typically used to.

  • Absolutely! Children respond incredibly well to a naturopathic approach. Digestive concerns and allergies can be managed and improved with gentle changes that work with their biology. Many parents and kids themselves find that incorporating herbs & supplements in addition to nutrition & lifestyle recommendations can help with behavioral challenges & mental wellness as well.

  • You do not not need to live near Gurnee, IL or even in the state of Illinois. Consultations can be held virtually and all recommendations can be supplied by an online vitamin and supplement dispensary.

Discovery Calls are over the phone or a virtual appointment (Zoom).

Intakes, lab reviews & follow-ups are done virtually or in-person, whichever you prefer.

  • Each action plan is unique to the individual, but most clients are recommended supplements in addition to lifestyle modifications. If vitamins, supplements, herbs or homeopathics are recommended in your action plan you will receive an emailed link to purchase these items along with instructions on how to take them.

You will be asked to pay with a credit card or you may be able to pay with your HSA or FSA card. Always check your plan administrator for details about eligible expenses.

  • It depends on what you are addressing in your visit. Naturopathic doctors are trained in interpreting laboratory findings and are able to make lifestyle recommendations such as supplementation and dietary changes based on these findings.

Lab tests can be ordered at the cost of the client including specialty lab tests such as hormones, allergens and GI health. Some clients find they are able to have standard lab tests ordered through their primary care physician which are covered by insurance. We are happy to accept and assess lab results provided from your PCP.hello@vitalsignsnaturalhealth.com

Please send your most recent laboratory results prior to your Intake appointment to hello@vitalsignsnaturalhealth.com.

  • Naturopathic care is currently not covered by insurance in Illinois. By working within a cash-pay system of care we are able to work together to ensure you only pay for the services that address your concerns and are not restricted by insurance approval.
